Cedarvale Terrace Nursing Home is located in the Forest Hill area of Toronto. I have been living here since October 2002. I enjoy life here very much. There is an Orthodox Synagogue in the building where the full range of Jewish life takes place during the year. The food in the kitchen is Kosher and is very tasty. I study with the Rabbi once a week. There is also Rehab and Physiotherapy in order to help us to keep up a good health. Movies are shown every week as well as activities such as bingo, Tai Chi, art therapy and special events such as Talent Shows where the residents can express themselves artistically. Every month there is a Birthday party where all the residents born during the particular month celebrate. All residents are invited. There is a Talk Group where participants can express there. The Psychiatrist runs the group. I wish to mention my observation about the building itself. It is built in such a way that one cannot help but run into other people. This is really good because one does not feel lonely. I have been in other places where one can avoid bumping into people unless its absolutely necessary. In my view all nursing homes should be built in the manner Cedarvale was built.
